Thom, Arnold Stanley It is with great saddness that we announce the passing of our husband and father. Arnold passed away peacefully in the Lady Minto Health Center, in Edam, Saskatchewan on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the age of 96 years.
Arnold will be sadly missed by his wife; of almost 70 years Mary; his daughters: Carol (Wilf) Blanchette of Spruce Grove, AB., Lillian Thom of Edmonton, AB., Vicki (David) Weber of Vawn, SK.; his son: Raymond (Judy) Thom of Edam, SK., 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; his brother: Minard (Georgette) Thom of Lloydminster as well as numerous other relatives. Arnold was predeceased by his parents: Gordon and Lily Thom, 3 brothers: Alfred, Walter and Neil.
The funeral service was conducted from the Edam United Church in Edam, Saskatchewan on July 20, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Nora Borgeson officiating. The eulogy was read by Raymond Thom & Vicki Weber. The pallbearers were grandsons, Mark Blanchette, Kim Blanchette, Kelly Blanchette, Ron Forsyth, Wayne Terpstra, Michael Weber, Brent Weber and Bryce Thom. Interment took place in the Edam Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd. Of Lloydminster, AB. Administered the funeral arrangements.
Cards of Thanks We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff of L.M.H.C., we deeply appreciate the compassionate care he received, especially over the last few months when his health deteriorated. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Reverend Nora Borgeson for her spiritual guidance and for conducting the funeral service under her own difficult circumstances. We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to her and her family on the loss of their mother. Also, thanks to organist, Bev Meikle and the choir for their uplifting gift of music, the Edam United Church Ladies for preparing and serving a delicious lunch, many friends and neighbours for bringing food to our homes, for the beautiful flowers and cards and most of all for the hugs and words of comfort. Special thanks to the McCaw Family for their compassionate assistance and professionalism.
